How do we, Daughters of the Immaculate Conception, live our consecration to God?

Perhaps you have some doubts about our lifestyle and our charism. We will try to clarify them by answering some questions…

– What is our lifestyle?

By our religious profession, we identify ourselves with the lifestyle which Christ chose for himself and which his Mother embraced: chaste, poor and obedient. Our lifestyle aims to be simple, like that in the home in Nazareth, carrying out our daily work for love of Jesus and our brothers and sisters, in communal unity and harmony.

 – How do we live the sequela of Christ?

We live it with a special charism: totally Marian. We wish to follow Jesus in the footsteps of the Immaculate, trying to be a living copy of her life.

 – Do we dedicate ourselves to a particular apostolic mission?

Our charism calls us to be the presence of Mary in today’s world, responding to the needs of mankind in the Third Millennium. For this reason, we dedicate ourselves to various apostolates:

  • Education of children and young people
  • Hospital apostolate
  • Homes for the aged
  • Pastoral assistance work
  • Missions
  • Nursery Schools
  • Management of retreat houses …

 – How many years does Formation take?

Formation includes: one year of pre-novitiate, two years of Novitiate, five years of Juniorate. It culminates with taking the perpetual vows which indicate one’s self-gift to Jesus for one’s entire life.

 – Are there any conditions to entering the Congregation?

The young woman who wishes to enter our religious family is required to be motivated by supernatural reasons and is suitable on the spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical and psychological planes.

 – May I undertake some experience of discernment with the Sisters?

You must first approach the Formation House, if possible, with an introduction from your parish priest or a priest that you may know. After an interview with the Formation Mistress, you will be able to spend time with the Community, attending moments of prayer and doing some apostolic activity. After that, you will have the opportunity to undertake an experience of discernment to discover with clarity the Will of God in your life.
